Descarbonizando nuestra energía y comunicando nuestros resultados con transparencia.
Heraeus Electro-Nite is part of the Heraeus Group. We follow the group’s climate policy and work toward its climate targets. Our emissions are included in the group’s carbon footprint.
You can find the group’s targets and annual results on the Sustainability page and in the Sustainability Report 2025.
At our own sites, we focus on decarbonizing our energy supply and optimizing energy consumption.
We install solar panels at our production sites. In 2025, they generated 3,622 MWh. They currently cover 9.3% of our own electricity use, measured between 1/1/ 2025 and 31/12/2025.
To complement the solar power we generate ourselves, we purchase electricity, heat, steam, and cooling from renewable sources under energy supply contracts. In 2025, these contracts supplied 4,813 MWh, currently covering about 12.4% of the total electricity consumption, measured between 1/1/ 2025 and 31/12/2025.
We are also working to make our production more energy efficient, with the goal of using 20% less energy by 2030, compared to 2021. To support this, we have installed energy monitoring devices at our largest production plants in Belgium, Poland, China, the US, Korea, India and Japan. They allow us to track energy consumption more closely and to identify energy-saving measures based on actual measurements.
We continue to install solar panels and increase the purchase of renewable energy contracts as we work toward the Heraeus Group target of covering 50% of electricity consumption with renewable energy by 2030. In 2025 21.7% of our total electricity consumption came from renewable sources, an increase of 21.2 % since 2021.
Furthermore, we are committed to reducing our scope 1 and 2 emissions by 42% by 2030 compared with 2021, bringing them down to 12,058 tonnes of CO2. In 2025, our scope 1 and 2 emissions amounted to 15,313 tonnes of CO₂, already 26% below 2021 levels.
«Nuestros clientes quieren utilizar menos energía y menos recursos por tonelada de producto final. Podemos ayudarles a conseguirlo, una medición a la vez. Al mismo tiempo, estamos reduciendo las emisiones de nuestras propias instalaciones, comenzando por la energía que consumimos. Cada grado cuenta, tanto en sus plantas como en las nuestras.»
