Double King’s Awards. One HEN Team. Endless Pride.

Heraeus Electro-Nite UK has once again achieved the highest honour in British business, receiving the King’s Award for Enterprise (Innovation 2025) following last year’s success for International Trade 2024.

To hold King’s Awards in both Innovation and International Trade is often described as the holy grail of British enterprise and represents a truly remarkable milestone for our entire team. 

This latest recognition celebrates CoreTemp®, a revolutionary optical-fibre-based system for measuring the temperature of molten steel. 
CoreTemp enables more efficient control of the Electric Arc Furnace, now the preferred process for producing low-carbon or ‘green’ steel.

It follows the earlier award for CasTemp®, which has become the global gold standard for continuous temperature measurement in steelmaking. 

The celebrations began in June when Mark Lee, Managing Director of Heraeus Electro-Nite UK, was invited to a royal reception at Windsor Castle, where he had the honour of meeting His Majesty King Charles III for the second time, as well as Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal, Princess Anne, alongside other 2025 King’s Award recipients.

His Majesty took a keen interest in what winning two King’s Awards means for Heraeus Electro-Nite, particularly in terms of innovation, growth, and sustainable steelmaking. He expressed his warm congratulations and best wishes to the entire team.

An evening celebration brought together more than 50 employees and former colleagues to mark this proud achievement. Elizabeth Fothergill CBE, His Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Derbyshire, presented the official The King's Awards for Enterprise seal and award. Each team member received a commemorative medal recognising their contribution.

Mark Lee spoke of the immense pride felt across Heraeus Electro-Nite UK, while the Lord-Lieutenant noted that winning two King’s Awards back-to-back is truly an exceptional achievement.
